About Rosacea Symptoms
Rosacea is a common disorder that mainly affects skin on the face and causes redness on the nose, chin, cheeks, and forehead. Primary rosacea symptoms include: flushing, persistent redness, bumps, and visible blood vessels. Other potential signs and symptoms include: eye irritation, burning or stinging, dry appearance, swelling, skin thickening, or plaques. While there is no cure for rosacea, medical therapy is available to control or reverse the signs and symptoms. Without treatment, some cases of rosacea can cause knobby bumps on the nose and cheeks that can multiply. If you suspect to have this condition, you must see a dermatologist. There are some things you can do to reduce symptoms and keep rosacea from getting worse, including:
-finding and avoiding rosacea triggers
-taking care of your skin and eyes
-using sunscreen every day
-using a moisturizer during winter
Rosacea affects both sexes, but is almost three times more common in women.
Rosacea can be controlled symptomatically but is generally a chronic condition, which requires long-term, follow-up care.
